ETAG Annexe C design method A has a limitation on the range of anchor arrangements. When your anchor arrangement is beyond this defined range, the Profis Anchor software will prompt you to select SOFA method. This design method allows you to reliably design beyond the limitations of ETAG. Both design methods are accepted for submissions in Hong Kong.

I noticed that using SOFA method for design may sometime greatly reduce the utilization of anchor bolt. However, in order to use SOFA method, I need to "fill holes" in the Hilti PROFIS Anchor design software. Does it mean that the drilled holes are literally required to be filled with grouting material before installation of the bolt if I use SOFA in my design? If so, are there any recommendation or limitation on the grouting material which are accepted for submission in Hong Kong?
