HST stud anchor is currenty being phased out and replced by the new and improved HST3 stud anchor. The major differences are as follows;
1. Load performance
HST3 exhibits higher (M8-M20) or equivalent (M24) load performance compared to HST. HST3 can be applied in any case to directly replace HST. Revision of calculation can be carried out by Hilti Profis Anchor software or as per Hilti anchor design manual.
2. Application range on concrete
HST3 has an engineering judgement to support installation in a more extensive range of concrete graded (15N/mm2 to 95N/mm2), compared to HST
3. Edge and anchor spacing distance requirements
HST3 requires smaller (M8-M20) or equivalent (M24) minimum edge and spacing distanced compared to HST (refer to Hilti anchor technical manual for more information).
4. Embedment depths
HST3 gives the option of two embedment depths including a shallower embedment, whereas HST only provided one embedment depth.
5. Drilling methods
HST3 is approved for 3 different drilling methods 1) hammer drilling, 2) diamond coring and 3) hollow drill bit where as HST is only approved for hammer drilling.
