Enquiry on Profis

What is the difference of blue arrow and black arrow when I input the load?

I am using grade 30 concrete, should I select C25/30 or C30/37? What is the difference?

Hi Tim,

Thank you for your questions.

The black arrow and blue arrow is stand for permanent load and variable load respectively. There are different values in other countries, but Hong Kong local requirement for Factor of Safety (FOS) is 3, so the load factor is 2 with 1.5 material factor assumed in Profis no matter for permanent or variable loads.

For concrete grade, European Standard is defaulted if you chose Hong Kong Region at the beginning. For C20/25, 20 is tested in cylinder and 25 is tested in cube, Hong Kong is using cube for testing. Hence, please select C25/30 for you application.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Cheers,
Tania
